The Borno State Scholarships Board has announced the commencement of applications for state-sponsored admissions into aviation-related degree programmes, specifically Aircraft Piloting and Aircraft Engineering, aimed at supporting qualified indigenes aspiring to pursue careers in the aviation industry.

In a public announcement issued in Maiduguri, the Board called on interested and eligible candidates from Borno State to submit their applications alongside required academic and identification documents.

According to the statement, applicants must provide photocopies of their Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) results with credit passes in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and at least one of Geography, Biology, Agriculture, Further Mathematics or Technical Drawing.

In addition, applicants are expected to submit an indigene certificate, birth certificate, primary school certificate, as well as their 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result, which must reflect a minimum score of 160.

The Board stated that the deadline for submission is Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, and all documents are to be submitted at the Borno State Scholarships Board office in Maiduguri.

As part of the selection process, an aptitude test will be conducted for all candidates who meet the eligibility requirements. The test is scheduled to take place on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at the ICT Centre, Ramat Polytechnic, Maiduguri, beginning at 8:00 a.m. prompt.

The announcement further advised candidates to come with their original JAMB score slips and other original documents for verification during the aptitude test.

The Scholarships Board reiterated its commitment to supporting educational advancement and creating opportunities for youths in specialised fields such as aviation, which it described as critical to the state’s long-term development goals.
