The Federal University Gashua (FUGashua), Yobe State, has announced a comprehensive internal and external advertisement for vacant teaching and non-teaching positions across all faculties and key administrative units of the institution.

The advert, issued by the Registrar, Dr. Abdulkadir Mamuda, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill multiple positions in the Faculties of Agriculture, Arts, Education, Management and Social Sciences, and Science, as well as in the Registry, Bursary and Health Services Departments.

Must be eligible Nigerian citizens aged 18–30 years.

Must possess appropriate academic and professional qualifications.

Must provide NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

Must show ICT proficiency for all senior positions.

Requirements for Teaching Positions

Graduate Assistant

First-class degree in the relevant field.

Assistant Lecturer

Master’s degree in relevant field.

Must show ability to teach and conduct research.

First degree (minimum Second Class Upper) currently pursuing master’s also accepted.

For B.Agric, Forestry & Wildlife Management, and Home Science & Management, minimum of First Class is required.

Lecturer II

Ph.D., or

Master’s degree with at least 2 journal articles and three years teaching/research in a university.

Lecturer I

Ph.D. holder with three years’ teaching experience; or

Master’s holder with five years’ experience and minimum of 5 journal articles plus 3 conference papers.

Senior Lecturer / Senior Librarian

Ph.D. plus five years university teaching experience, with:

Minimum 6 publications (3 journals, 3 proceedings)

Evidence of research productivity and academic leadership

For Senior Librarian:

Must be a Reader/Associate Professor, or

Ph.D. with eight years’ teaching/research experience.

Professor

Must already be a Professor

Ph.D. with at least 20 publications, 12 years cognate experience, and lead author in at least eight works.
