The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike, has relieved the Acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Mr Michael Ango, of his appointment.
This is contained in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the Senior Special Assistant to the Minister on Public Communication and Social Media, Mr Lere Olayinka.
According to the statement, the most senior official of the Service has been directed to assume leadership of the agency in an acting capacity.
No reason was given for the decision.
President Bola Tinubu approved Ango’s appointment as acting chairman of the FCT-IRS on Aug. 9, 2024.
Under his leadership, the Service generated N262 billion in 2024, surpassing its N250 billion target and its 2023 revenue collection of N211.1 billion.
