The Federal Government has commenced multiple recruitment and engagement programmes aimed at employing qualified Nigerians across critical sectors, including security, infrastructure, healthcare, entrepreneurship and education.

The ongoing recruitment exercises, which cut across federal institutions and allied agencies, are part of government efforts to strengthen national capacity, reduce unemployment and improve service delivery in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The opportunities are open to Nigerians in various professional and technical categories, with applications currently ongoing under different timelines.

*Police Service Commission Recruitment

The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has invited applications from suitably qualified Nigerians for enlistment into the force as Police Constables and Specialist Constables.

According to the commission, the recruitment is targeted at strengthening policing operations through the engagement of personnel in technical and professional fields.

To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, physically and mentally fit, and of good character. They must not be more than 28 years old and must not have any criminal record or financial embarrassment.

Educational requirements include possession of GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE or NECO certificates, or their equivalents, with a minimum of four credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

The deadline for submission of applications is Jan. 25, 2026.

*Federal Ministry of Works Recruitment

The Federal Ministry of Works has also issued a nationwide call for applications for the engagement of unemployed graduate engineers and skilled artisans under its Capacity Building and On-Site Training Programme.

The initiative, introduced under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, is designed to enhance technical skills, empower young Nigerians and support the execution of federal infrastructure projects across all local government areas.

Participants will benefit from temporary engagement with monthly stipends, hands-on training at federal construction sites, mentorship by registered engineers and certified supervisors, provision of personal protective equipment, and certification upon successful completion.

Applicants must be Nigerian citizens aged between 18 and 45 years, unemployed at the time of application, and physically fit for construction-related fieldwork.

*NAHCON Medical Team Recruitment

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has opened its application portal for the 2026 National Medical Team in preparation for the next Hajj operation.

Available positions include doctors, pharmacists and nurses who will provide healthcare services to Nigerian pilgrims during the exercise.

The commission has not specified a closing date for applications.

*NiYA Startup Pitch Programme

The Federal Government, through the Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA), has launched the NiYA Startup Pitch 2.0, a programme designed to support young entrepreneurs and promote innovation within Nigeria’s digital economy.

The initiative targets startup founders aged between 18 and 35 years who reside in Nigeria and operate startups with at least two co-founders.

Successful participants will gain access to ₦100 million in funding, mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and industry experts, enterprise development support, national media visibility, and opportunities to pitch to investors and strategic partners.

*Lagos State Employment Trust Fund Recruitment

The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) has also announced recruitment for qualified teachers across various sectors within the state.

Interested applicants are required to submit their applications on or before Dec. 26, 2025.

Application Process

Applicants are advised to apply only through official recruitment portals provided by the respective agencies and to adhere strictly to stated requirements and deadlines.

The Federal Government urged Nigerians to beware of fraudulent recruitment schemes and to verify information through authorised channels.
